A long-running public feud between Nollywood actresses Toyin Abraham Ajeyemi and Wumi Toriola has come to an end, as both stars were seen reconciling during a chance meeting in Lagos.

The reconciliation occurred on Sunday, December 21, 2025, at a cinema in Ikeja, where both actresses were present to promote their respective film projects. Toyin Abraham was at the venue to publicise her new movie, Oversabi Aunty, while Wumi Toriola was promoting Behind the Scenes, a film produced by Funke Akindele in which she features.

A video of the encounter, which has since gone viral on social media, captured the emotional moment the actresses acknowledged each other warmly. In the clip, Wumi is heard telling Toyin that she missed her and playfully asking her to swear that the feeling was mutual. Toyin responded affirmatively, saying she also missed Wumi, before the two embraced, drawing applause and excitement from onlookers.

The reunion marks a significant turnaround in a relationship that had been strained for over seven years. The actresses, who were once close friends, fell out after a series of public disagreements and allegations that played out online, eventually polarising fans and colleagues within the industry.

The rift reportedly began in 2017 during the filming of Alakada Reloaded, when Wumi Toriola accused Toyin Abraham of slapping her in a hotel room. Wumi later warned that such an incident should never be repeated. Tensions escalated in subsequent years, with Wumi accusing Toyin in 2018 of faking her engagement, further deepening the divide.

In 2023, the feud resurfaced amid rumours alleging that Wumi was involved in a secret affair with Toyin Abraham’s husband. Wumi strongly denied the claims at the time, describing them as false, malicious, and deliberately intended to damage her reputation.

Sunday’s public display of reconciliation has been widely welcomed by fans and industry watchers, many of whom expressed relief that the long-standing animosity between the two actresses has finally been resolved. The development is being seen as a positive step toward unity and maturity within the Nollywood community.
