In a statement shared on Instagram, Rollas described the initiative as his “last legacy” before handing over leadership. The guild held the official groundbreaking ceremony for the “Junior Pope Nollywood City” in Ako Nike, Enugu State, marking a significant milestone in the Nigerian film industry.
Spanning approximately 150 plots of land, the development is designed not only to honour Junior Pope’s memory but also to provide lasting support to Nollywood practitioners and their families. The project is expected to create a permanent hub for creativity, training, and administrative activities in the region.
As a symbolic gesture, three plots were allocated to Junior Pope’s three sons, one plot each, and were presented to his wife during the ceremony.
Rollas praised the collaboration between the AGN Enugu State chapter, the Enugu State Government, the Ako Nike community, and development partners, describing the project as a collective effort grounded in unity and vision.
He emphasised that the initiative is more than just land and buildings, but a commitment to dignity, unity, and the future of Nigerian actors.
Rollas further revealed that the project will house the Junior Pope Creative Hub, as well as the AGN Zonal and Enugu State secretariat, establishing a permanent base for the industry in the South East.
According to Rollas, “Expression of interest begins on 5th February 2026 and ends on 20th February 2026. Allocation starts on 27th February 2026. Terms and conditions apply.”
He concluded by urging that Junior Pope’s legacy continue to inspire the industry to build enduring structures and support systems for its practitioners.
