The claims emerged in a viral post that accused the actress of facilitating exploitative connections within the entertainment and political spheres. The allegation quickly gained traction online, prompting a direct response from Badmus on Thursday.
In a statement shared via her social media platforms, the actress dismissed the accusation as false and attention-driven, warning that legal authorities would become involved.
“This is the attention you’ve been craving for, so let’s get into it…. This is a false accusation, and authorities will step in. Let it be known that we do not forgive in this zone,” she wrote.
Following her reaction, the individual behind the post, identified as Femzy, issued a public apology, admitting that the allegations were unfounded and made without evidence.
“I sincerely apologize to Ms. Eniola Badmus, her family, friends, fans, and everyone affected by my recent tweet. The post accusing her of exploitation, linking young girls to movie and political figures, and pimping was wrong, irresponsible, and made without evidence. I deeply regret spreading such damaging and false information,” he stated.
The swift retraction has since shifted attention to the dangers of unverified claims on social media and the reputational damage they can cause, particularly for public figures in Nigeria’s entertainment industry.
