In a post on his Truth Social platform, U.S. President Donald Trump sharply criticised the Grammy Awards, calling the ceremony “virtually unwatchable” and branding the event one of the “worst” award shows. He also attacked broadcaster CBS, saying the network was “lucky” it no longer airs what he described as “garbage.”

Trump’s remarks came after host Trevor Noah made a joke during the ceremony that referenced Trump and former President Bill Clinton in connection with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Trump denied the implication and said Noah’s comment was both false and defamatory.

“I have never been to Epstein Island, nor anywhere close,” Trump wrote, adding that he had never been accused by the media of such claims before. He insisted Noah’s joke was inaccurate and warned that he was considering legal action, describing Noah as a “pathetic” and “talentless” host.

Trump also compared Noah’s performance unfavourably to late-night host Jimmy Kimmel, suggesting the comedian’s hosting was substandard. He hinted that his lawyers could pursue a lawsuit for damages, citing past legal disputes with media figures that he said had “worked out well” for him.

The president’s comments mark the latest clash between Trump and entertainment figures who have criticised him or referenced him in their performances.
