Madonna University in Nigeria has bolstered its leadership team by appointing technology strategist Mr. Rock Adote to its Board of Trustees, a strategic move aimed at enhancing the institution’s digital governance and modernizing its technological infrastructure.

Adote brings more than a decade of experience in digital transformation, enterprise identity management, and cybersecurity—expertise that stakeholders say will be instrumental in building secure and efficient digital systems for academic administration and broader institutional operations.

A statement released by the university on Tuesday emphasized that his appointment reflects a growing commitment to technology-driven governance within higher education. Key priorities include improving data security, strengthening identity management protocols, and adopting contemporary digital systems that support both teaching and administrative functions.

As a member of the Board of Trustees, Adote will participate in institutional oversight and policy formulation, guiding long-term development strategies and helping Madonna University remain responsive to emerging global trends in education and technology.

On his appointment, Adote said, “Digital transformation will play a critical role in shaping the future of academic administration, research, and learning environments. I am honoured to contribute my expertise to support Madonna University’s growth and innovation.”

The university also announced the induction of other notable figures to its Board, including geophysicist Sir Nwagwu Emeka; Chief Arthur Okafor, SAN; Professor Anagboso Osita, Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Madonna University; Mrs. Ike Angela Unaoaku of the African Travel Association; Barrister Augustine Obo; and Rev. Fr Stephen Nwatah.

Education analysts have observed that Adote’s inclusion signals a deliberate strategy to integrate technology expertise into the university’s leadership, underscoring the importance of professionals who can navigate the intersection of innovation and institutional development.

With the addition of Adote to its Board, Madonna University is expected to advance its digital capabilities, reinforce cybersecurity frameworks, and solidify its position as a forward-looking centre of learning within Nigeria’s higher education sector.
