Y is stepping into a powerful new era, turning up the volume on everything that matters to youth culture right now. Known for championing fresh talent and pushing boundaries in broadcasting, the station is ready to unveil its 2026 line-up – a bold reflection of where the culture is headed next.

Over the past year, Y has continued to grow its audience and evolve its sound, cementing its position as a leader in youth-driven media. With an ever-expanding platform that goes beyond radio, Y remains committed to amplifying new voices, shaping conversations, and creating experiences that truly connect.

This season, the line-up signals a shift – one that’s louder, sharper, and more intentional.

Mid-mornings are entering a brand-new era as the beloved Karen Mthethwa steps into the 9AM–12PM slot with THE GLOW UP, taking on a leading role and ushering in a fresh chapter for the show. Her arrival marks an exciting evolution, while the station bids a heartfelt farewell to Xtremme, a long-standing voice who has been part of Y’s journey for over a decade as he pursues other business.

Weekday nights are also leveling up with a serious upgrade. Media powerhouse Barbara 'Baxbara' Moagi joins forces with Tulz Madala as the brand new co-host on UNCENSORED (8PM–10PM), forming a fearless duo ready to push boundaries and take conversations to the next level. Expect bold takes, unfiltered opinions, and undeniable unmatched chemistry. The station bids farewell to Dimpho Makgotho, a Y favourite for the past 4 years, as she steps away to pursue other ventures.

Hip Hop at Y is stepping into a new golden era, with fresh voices DJ Sliqe & Roiii taking the reins every Sunday evening from 7PM–10PM. Bringing authenticity, energy, and a deeper connection to the streets, the show will spotlight the sound, stories, and culture shaping the movement right now.

Saturdays are getting a cultural glow-up too, with a new voice on radio stepping into THE RIZZ from 5PM–6PM. An already familiar face in the entertainment streets, Munaka is set to spotlight rising stars and bridge the gap between what’s hot in the streets and what’s next on Y.

Karma Karma Radio hosted by Shimza takes over Saturday nights 9pm - 10pm. A true full-circle moment, Shimza rises from his early days on the YTKO mix platform. Also joining the lineup is Kmass for the weekend 10-2pm slot.

Breakfast’s THE WAY UP hosted by Nia Brown and Okay Wasabi alongside HOME RUN's afternoon show with Ayanda MVP and co-host Sinaye Kotobe, remains the undeniable heartbeat of Y, standing tall as two most popular shows on the station. These prime-time powerhouses continue to set the tone for the day, delivering the perfect blend of energy, culture, conversation and cutting-edge music that resonates deeply with the audience. With an instinctive understanding of what listeners want, both shows consistently create moments that feel relevant, engaging, and authentically connected to youth culture — keeping audiences locked in, entertained, and coming back for more.

Meanwhile, Club Y continues to dominate both the airwaves and the streets. Building on its unstoppable growth, the mix show returns bigger than ever, with an expanded roster of DJs delivering high-energy sets and genre-blending sounds that keep listeners locked in. Y welcomes DJ Tshegu bringing a fresh, fearless energy to a lineup that already includes Shakes & Les, Ggoldie, Venom, Rarri, DJ Pedabotic, Lesedi The DJ, Legendary Crisp, Just Mo, and DJ Samba. After shutting down the streets last year, Club Y is gearing up to shake things up once again this May.

Having left a lasting mark on the airwaves over the past decade, and being a forerunner of the Club Y brand, Y bids a heartfelt farewell to another true staple of the station - DJ Zan-D. His contribution to the culture and the Y legacy will not be forgotten.

Beyond the airwaves, Y’s digital universe is growing louder, with an ecosystem evolving into a full-scale content network. Building on the success of its current digital shows, Tell Us Y with Hey Shawty and Culture Locked with Perceey ASF, the station introduces two exciting new additions that tap into the heart of youth culture – from music and lifestyle to money, politics, and everything in between. As part of Y’s “Beyond FM” strategy, these shows continue to expand the station’s reach, creating a dynamic, always-on content experience across platforms. Uncool MC with It’s an Uncool Show, dives deep into the heart of Amapiano culture and gives fans an insider view of the genre shaping the sound of now. Media personality Lerai will host Money Talks, bringing bold, thought-provoking conversations around youth, money, politics, and the realities shaping the next generation.

And of course, Y remains at the forefront of youth culture through its iconic events. From GRYND to LYFE to First Touch, the biggest properties in South Ahh, we’re continuing to create unforgettable moments that move the culture forward.

"This line-up is a true reflection of where we are as a brand and where youth culture is going. We’re constantly evolving, constantly creating, and always looking for new ways to connect with our audience. 2026 is about being louder, bolder, and more fearless than ever before. And Y NOT?" stated Y’s Programme Manager Phindile Ziqubu.

This is more than just a line-up.

This is Y, reloaded, re-energised and ready to lead from the front, the side and the top.
