As preparations intensify for the 2026 edition of the Nigeria Public Relations Week (NPRW), the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has announced a distinguished keynote speaker whose work sits at the intersection of agriculture, policy, and development across Africa.

Her Excellency, Ambassador Dr. Brylyne Chitsunge—Pan-African Parliament Ambassador for Food Security and Chief Executive Officer of Elpasso Farms—will headline the Nigeria Public Relations Week (NPRW) Croc City 2026.

The event is scheduled to take place in Kaduna from April 19 to 25, 2026, bringing together thought leaders from across Africa and beyond. This year’s theme, “Food Security: From Policy Paper to Public Plate – The Imperatives of Public Relations,” reflects a growing recognition of communication as a critical tool in addressing food systems challenges.

Ambassador Chitsunge is widely regarded as one of Africa’s leading voices in food security, sustainable agriculture, and agribusiness development. Her career has been defined by a commitment to empowering farmers—particularly women and youth—while advancing practical, scalable solutions to food insecurity across the continent.

In her role with the Pan-African Parliament, she has contributed significantly to shaping continental dialogue around agriculture, climate resilience, and food systems transformation. Her appointment as the institution’s first-ever Ambassador for Food Security underscores both her expertise and influence in the sector.

Beyond policy advocacy, she is also an accomplished agribusiness leader. Through Elpasso Farms, she has built a diversified agricultural enterprise spanning livestock, aquaculture, and crop production, with established supply chains reaching major retail and hospitality markets.

Her work extends into global policy and research ecosystems. She is affiliated with the Clinton Global Initiative and serves as Co-Chair of the Phytomedicines Global Health Catalyst at Harvard Medical School. In addition, she acts as a strategic advisor to government stakeholders and represents cannabis industry interests at the International Narcotics Control Board.

Over the years, Ambassador Chitsunge has delivered keynote addresses and participated in high-level forums across Africa, Europe, and the United States, contributing to global conversations on food security, youth empowerment, agricultural innovation, and public health.

Her keynote at NPRW 2026 is expected to set the tone for the week-long event by examining how strategic communication can bridge the persistent gap between policy formulation and real-world impact. The address will explore how public relations can shape public understanding, influence behavior, mobilize stakeholders, and ensure that food security initiatives translate into measurable outcomes for communities.

Chairman of the NPRW 2026 Planning Committee, Yomi Badejo-Okusanya, described her as “a powerful symbol of the intersection between policy, practice, and impact,” expressing confidence that her participation will inspire solution-driven dialogue throughout the conference.

Similarly, the President and Chairman of Council of NIPR, Dr. Ike Neliaku, noted that her selection reflects the Institute’s commitment to elevating African-led solutions while integrating global expertise into national discourse. He emphasized the critical role of public relations in fostering trust, advancing development, and galvanizing collective action in agriculture.

NPRW 2026 is expected to attract more than 2,000 delegates, including policymakers, communication professionals, agribusiness leaders, development partners, and international stakeholders. The programme will feature policy dialogues, technical sessions, youth engagements, and strategic roundtables aimed at generating actionable solutions to Nigeria’s food security challenges.

With the announcement of Ambassador Chitsunge as keynote speaker, anticipation continues to build for what is shaping up to be a landmark edition of the Nigeria Public Relations Week.
