A new layer has been added to the heated online conflict involving former Big Brother Naija winner Phyna and popular Nigerian influencer VeryDarkMan, as Phyna has accused him of attempting to manipulate public opinion against her after she allegedly rejected his sexual advances.
The accusation surfaced on Sunday through a series of posts she shared on X (formerly Twitter), where she revisited the breakdown of their relationship and the events surrounding her late younger sister, Ruth Otabor.
Background: Justice Campaign That Sparked Collaboration
The dispute between both personalities initially gained public attention in 2025 when Phyna sought VeryDarkMan’s support in her campaign for justice following the death of her sister, who was struck by a Dangote Cement truck in Edo State.
At the time, VeryDarkMan’s involvement amplified public pressure around the case. Soon after, Dangote Cement reportedly pledged to cover the medical expenses of the accident victim, a move widely discussed online.
However, tensions escalated shortly after, when VeryDarkMan stepped away from the matter. He later alleged that Phyna had engaged in separate negotiations with the company behind the scenes, a claim she strongly rejected.
Phyna maintained that the narrative being pushed about her was false and intended to damage her credibility.

In her latest statements, Phyna insisted that the backlash she has faced online is the result of deliberate manipulation, adding that VeryDarkMan misrepresented her actions and conversations.
Sharing what she described as evidence of their private chats, she expressed deep frustration over how the situation has unfolded.
“VeryDarkMan came out to say the opposite of what happened. I can never forgive him because he turned me into a bad person over my sister’s case. He is someone I held in high esteem, but he switched up on me. Claiming I requested N1 billion from Dangote.
I was shocked because such a conversation never happened. Maybe he started holding grudges against me because he said he wanted to sleep with me and I didn’t accept,” she said.
Her remarks have since fueled intense reactions across social media, with users divided over the conflicting narratives being presented by both parties.

The renewed allegations have further intensified the already bitter fallout between the two, with supporters on both sides trading accusations online.
