Award-winning Afro-Gospel singer Godfrey Gad is taking his sound to a new level with the announcement of a collaborative EP with worship movement Sound of Salem titled “Salem Alaikum.”

The upcoming project arrives on the heels of the success of their widely celebrated single, “Goodness II,” which gained traction among gospel music lovers for its energetic delivery and spiritually uplifting message.

Scheduled for release on June 12, 2026, “Salem Alaikum” is already building anticipation within Nigeria’s gospel music community, with many fans eager to witness the blend of both ministries’ distinct musical identities.

According to Godfrey Gad, the EP will introduce listeners to a refreshing sound he describes as “Afro-Kabash” — a fusion of energetic Afro-inspired rhythms, indigenous percussion, and contemporary gospel melodies. The project will also carry the deep worship atmosphere and prophetic chants that have become a defining feature of Sound of Salem’s ministry.

Music analysts believe the collaboration could become a landmark moment for the Afro-Gospel movement, especially at a time when Nigerian gospel music continues to evolve beyond conventional praise and worship styles.

By combining danceable African sounds with revival-focused worship, the project is expected to appeal to both younger audiences and devoted worshippers seeking spiritually immersive music experiences.

Ahead of the EP’s official launch, the duo released the lead single, “Oh My Soul,” on Friday, May 15, 2026. The song has already sparked conversations across gospel music circles, with early listeners praising its blend of soulful worship, rhythmic intensity, and spiritual depth.

Some industry insiders have even described “Salem Alaikum” as a potentially “genre-defining” body of work capable of reshaping perceptions of Afro-Gospel music both within and beyond Nigeria.

With anticipation continuing to grow, many fans are now counting down to what could become one of the most talked-about gospel releases of 2026.
