Beşiktaş are preparing to cash in on Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi, with the Turkish club open to offers in excess of €10 million just a year after signing him from Leicester City.

The move comes as part of a broader squad restructuring at the Istanbul club, following a disappointing campaign that has forced a rethink of both personnel and tactical direction.

Ndidi joined Beşiktaş in the summer of 2025 for around €8 million, but his time in Turkey has not gone as planned. Under new manager Vincenzo Italiano—appointed after the departure of Sergen Yalçın—the Nigerian midfielder has reportedly fallen outside the club’s long-term plans for the 2026/27 season.

Club insiders suggest the decision is part of a wider effort to trim wages and adjust to Turkish league foreign player regulations, with several high-profile names also expected to be moved on. Fellow Nigeria-eligible defender Felix Uduokhai has also been mentioned among those who could leave as the rebuild gathers pace.

Ndidi’s situation has quickly attracted attention in the transfer market. Clubs in the Saudi Pro League are understood to be monitoring developments closely, with Middle Eastern sides increasingly active in targeting established European-based players.

A return to the Premier League has also been discussed in some quarters, with earlier links to Manchester United resurfacing in media speculation. However, that option now appears unlikely given the club’s recent midfield recruitment decisions.

Despite the uncertainty, Ndidi is still expected to report for pre-season training on June 28, even as discussions over his future continue behind the scenes.

He remains under contract with Beşiktaş for another two years, but reports indicate the club is willing to sanction a sale if their valuation is met, with a final decision expected before the start of the new season.

For now, the situation leaves the 27-year-old in a holding pattern—caught between a squad rebuild in Istanbul and growing interest from abroad, particularly in financially powerful leagues looking to strengthen their midfield options.
