A routine film production turned into a traumatic experience for Omeche Oko after a motorcycle stunt went wrong during a Nollywood shoot, leaving the actress injured and briefly hospitalised.
The incident, which she later shared on Instagram on Wednesday, captured both the production process and the painful aftermath of the crash. The footage showed how a planned scene involving a moving motorcycle quickly escalated into a dangerous accident.
During filming, Oko was seated at the back of a motorcycle ridden by her colleague Victory Michael. According to the footage, the situation deteriorated when Michael’s motorcycle struck a metal pole attached to a vehicle barrier at the location.
The impact reportedly forced his arm against the structure, causing him to lose control of the bike. In the chaos that followed, Oko was thrown off the motorcycle and landed hard on the ground.
Scenes from the video showed crew members and fellow actors rushing toward her as she lay in visible pain, crying out while attempts were made to stabilise the situation before she was taken to a hospital for urgent care.
Additional clips from the hospital showed the actress receiving treatment, including injections and medical attention for injuries sustained in the fall.
Reflecting on the ordeal in her post, Omeche Oko expressed gratitude for her survival and highlighted the risks actors sometimes endure in the line of duty.
She wrote:
“Life is very, very fragile. It could have been a different story, but God said NO. If u see an actor today, give them a hug. We take a lot of risks for the craft. All I can say is Thank You, God,”
The emotional video quickly drew reactions from colleagues and fans across social media, many of whom flooded the comment section with prayers and messages of support.
One user, xO_joannajordan wrote:
“My God. What fuels your passion won’t cause you pain. Sending you prayers and love.”
Another commenter, chekwasmichaels, added:
“The struggles behind scenes, I pray for a quick comeback.”
Reacting as well, itz_ubah_rebecca said:
“So sorry oyine, I pray for quick recovery for you. And may God bless you all, actresses and actors. Omoh, it’s not easy.”
Fellow actor babarex0 also reacted briefly, writing:
“Thank God oo.”
Another colleague, onyiialexx, commented:
“Oh my baby. Glory be to God.”
The incident has since reignited conversations around safety protocols on Nollywood sets, especially during stunt-heavy scenes involving vehicles and physical action.
