Shakira has strengthened her position as one of the biggest names in global music, with her latest single “Dai Dai” achieving major streaming success while the superstar continues to break records across the industry.

The Colombian singer has become the most-streamed Latin artist in the world, driven by the popularity of “Dai Dai,” her collaboration with Nigerian music heavyweight Burna Boy. The track has emerged as the most-streamed song globally on Spotify and reached the top of the Billboard Global Chart for the week of June 30.

The achievement adds another milestone to Shakira’s decades-long career and reinforces her influence as one of the most recognised voices in international music.

Released on May 14, “Dai Dai” serves as the official anthem of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, with proceeds supporting the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund.

The song blends Latin and pop sounds with the energy of Nigerian Afrobeats, creating a cross-cultural anthem built around themes of determination, celebration, and unity through football.

Beyond its chart success, “Dai Dai” pays tribute to some of the greatest names in the history of the sport, including Pelé, Diego Maradona, Paolo Maldini, Romário, Cristiano Ronaldo, Carlos Valderrama, Andrés Iniesta, David Beckham, Kaká, Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappé, and Mohamed Salah.

The song had already generated historic numbers before reaching the top of Spotify’s global chart. Its official music video has surpassed 296 million views, while the track has crossed 500 million streams across digital platforms.

Shakira also recently surpassed 99 million monthly listeners on Spotify, setting a new record for a Latin female artist on the platform. “Dai Dai” has continued to perform strongly worldwide, appearing on charts in more than 56 countries.

The global success comes as Shakira continues her highly successful Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour, currently performing the second United States leg of the tour in a special World Cup edition.

The tour resumed in the US shortly after the singer’s historic return to Brazil, where she headlined a free concert at Copacabana Beach that attracted more than two million fans.

Before beginning the European residency of “Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran,” Shakira is scheduled to join Madonna and BTS for the FIFA World Cup 2026 Halftime Show on Sunday, July 19.

The performance will mark the first time in FIFA World Cup history that the final match features a dedicated halftime show, bringing together major global artists in a celebration of sport, culture, and social impact in support of education initiatives.

Shakira is also set to make history in Spain with a new residency model for her tour. The performances will take place at Shakira Stadium, a purpose-built venue designed by Bjarke Ingels Group within Iberdrola Music. The venue is expected to accommodate more than 50,000 fans per night and feature advanced sound systems, improved viewing experiences, and modern facilities.

Since launching in February 2025, the “Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran World Tour” has continued to achieve major commercial success. The tour became the highest-grossing tour across all genres in 2025 and later earned a Guinness World Record in January 2026 for the highest-grossing tour in history by a Spanish-language artist.

With her streaming dominance, record-breaking tour, and continued global influence, Shakira’s latest achievements further highlight her status as one of the most successful and impactful performers of her generation.
