ICAN Inducts New Members Into West African Body

The President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, Isma’ila Zakari, has urged the 650 newly inducted members of the Association of Accounting Technicians West Africa to adhere strictly to the conduct of professionalism.
He said this recently during the 47th induction ceremony held at the ICAN Centre, Amuwo Odofin, Lagos.

Zakari said, “The AATWA represent highest professionalism. I employ you to adhere strictly to the conduct of professional accountant which you have been exposed to. I employ you to take the motto of the institute ‘Accuracy and Integrity’ as your guide”
According to the ICAN president, AATWA certification is universally accepted and internationally valued as the members “have over the years proved to be highly skilled, competent, ambitious and focused.

“The members mainly occupied a well rewarding middle level position in every sphere of the Nigerian economy.

The guest speaker at the event, Mr. Blessing Ayemhere, who is also the general manager, Commercial and Finance, Midwestern Oil and Gas Company Limited, encouraged the inductees to aspire to be the best.
Speaking on the topic, ‘Strategic Positioning for Success’, Ayemhere said, “Sixty million Nigerians are unemployed but there is still hope. The way to success is to free your potential. Your potential is the unlimited you, the limitless you.”
Ayemhere explained that success was about goal setting, adding that, ”without goals, you simply drift and flow on the current of life; goals are the fuel in the furnace of achievement.”
While urging them to set big goals, he added that what they pursue with their life would be determined by what they wanted to do with their life.
