Nigeria’s first online newspaper and TV platform for entrepreneurs, ‘makeit’ an idea conceived by Olabode Opesitan, a former newspaper editor and marketing communications specialist, will be announcing the winner of the maiden edition of ‘Entrepreneur of the Month’ on Thursday, July 5.

The event is an inspirational initiative of make it, the first Nigerian online newspaper/TV for entrepreneurs, to exalt outstanding Nigerian entrepreneurs.
make it said its Editorial Board, after careful deliberations, has chosen a notable entrepreneur who has for many years built successful businesses and mentored others, for the honour.
make it said as part of its corporate goals, it aims to inspire more Nigerians to embrace entrepreneurship as the surest path to a brighter future by regularly celebrating in a spectacular way entrepreneurs who have broken great barriers to excel.

“We are convinced that honouring distinguished and successful entrepreneurs will motivate millions of younger Nigerian entrepreneurs who have almost given up hope,” the newspaper said.
make it said it has seen the loss of entrepreneurial spirit among Nigerians, many of who are graduates with brilliant certificates, who rather than settling down to create jobs are instead craving for scarce white-collar jobs.
“In a country of almost 200 million people, there is always a room for an innovative and proactive entrepreneur to thrive,” the online newspaper stated.

“It is rather ironic that despite the huge population that Nigeria is blessed with, only about 34 million people out of the nation’s potential labour force of 85 million people are either gainfully employed or under-employed.  Our population should be an asset, not a curse.
“Therefore, the most viable option available to address this situation is for Nigerians to develop more interest in entrepreneurship,” the online newspaper said.
