    Apple Watch Series 4 to Get ECG Support with WatchOS 5.1.2 Update

    Apple Watch Series 4’s biggest feature is finally on the way.
    The new ECG app that allows users to monitor their heart rhythm will be introduced with the next watchOS 5.2.1 update, which is now in beta testing. You won’t see it outside the U.S.

    Apple Watch Series 4 was recently announced by the tech giant and during the launch event, its ECG functionality was touted as one its biggest highlights. Now, the electrocardiogram feature is coming to the Apple Watch Series 4 with the watchOS 5.1.2 update. For the unknown, Apple Watch 4 also comes with features such as three new heart features which include low heart rate notification, heart rhythm for detecting any unusual heart rhythm and notify you.
    According to a report by MacRumors, the watchOS 5.1.2 will come with an Apple-made ECG application which will let users monitor their heart rhythm while also understanding signals of Atrial Fibrillation.

    Moreover, all recordings through the ECG app, classifications, and any recorded symptoms will be stored in the Health app in form of a PDF while this PDF can be shared with physicians for consultation.
    The new ECG app works with the electrodes built into the new Digital Crown of the Apple Watch Series 4 and the new electrical heart rate sensor that is featured in the back crystal. To record an ECG, users will be required to place their finger on the Digital Crown while wearing the Apple Watch.

    Apple watch is the first ECG product available over the counter. You can take an ECG anywhere with the built-in electrodes paired with crystal sapphire at the back of the Watch. While it only takes 30 seconds for the Apple Watch Series 4 to perform an ECG. On the other hand, Apple is reportedly testing watchOS 5.1.2 with developers, and we can expect that the new update should be rolled out for the masses soon.

    The Apple Watch Series 4 features a bigger display, over 30 per cent to be precise, and it is powered by the fourth-gen Silicon package (S4) while it runs WatchOS 5. The 64-bit S4 processor offers 2 times faster performance and the device is priced at $399 for the GPS version while the LTE models start at $499.
