The Super Mario series is celebrating its 35th anniversary and Nintendo seems to have major plans in the works to commemorate the video game series franchise.
According to multiple media reports, primarily Video Games Chronicle, Nintendo "plans to re-release most of Super Mario’s 35-year back catalogue" for Nintendo Switch in 2020. A specific date for the release of games has not been reported. The remasters are set to include Super Mario 64, Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Sunshine.
Nintendo was reportedly planning to make the 35th anniversary reveal during E3 2020 in June. However, the major gaming industry conference has since been canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The Japanese gaming company is also looking to release a deluxe version of Super Mario 3D World and a new Paper Mario game.
Nintendo didn't immediately respond to requests for comment. Nevertheless, a representative told Business Insider that the company has "nothing to announce on that topic."
