Mavin Records star and Headies’ Next Rated artist, Divine Ikubor popularly known as Rema secured another top spot as he’s been named Apple Music Up Next artiste. An Apple Music’s monthly artist initiative geared towards identifying, showcasing and elevating rising talent.
This is coming after the ‘Dumebi’ crooner was nominated as Best Viewers Choice: International Act on the 2020 BET Awards.
He was nominated on the awards alongside Burna Boy and Wizkid, they were the only Nigerian Artistes nominated for the awards edition of 2020.
The global singer and rapper is at the forefront of Nigerian pop music, with a youth-led sound connecting across all corners of Africa and beyond.
Since the debut of his Rema – EP in March 2019, Rema has become the #18 World Artist across Apple Music based on lifetime plays.
To date, his music has been featured across Apple Music playlists like Afrobeats Hits, Today’s Hits, Future Hits, Agenda, Shazam Discovery Top 50, Home Office DJ, Breaking R&B, The New Africa, It’s Lit!, and many more.
Rema has been featured on major programs, including Joe Kay’s Soulection and Kendall Jenner’s ZAZA WORLD RADIO, and has been Shazamed in over 180 countries across Apple Music’s Beats 1 global livestream.
Rema, who is so excited about it has taken to twitter to share the news on Twitter as he showed deep gratitude for the honour.

Rema won Next Rated and was nominated for Viewer's Choice at the 13th edition of The Headies. He received the Souncity MVP for best new artist January 2020.
