    Nigeria Records 404 New COVID-19 Cases, Total Infections Now 42,208

    Nigeria has recorded 404 new COVID-19 cases as total infections from the virus increased to 42,208. The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control made this known on its official twitter handle on Wednesday.

    The NCDC noted that 5 more persons have died from the virus on Wednesday, as the number of successfully treated and recovered Covid-19 cases rose to 19,004 following the discharge of 240 patients. 

    Lagos, the nation’s COVID-19 regional epicentre, reported 106 cases, FCT 54 cases, Rivers 48 cases, Plateau 40 cases, Edo 29 cases and Enugu 21 cases.

    While Oyo state confirmed 20 cases, Kano had 18 cases, Ondo had 15 cases, Ogun reported 10 cases, Ebonyi had 9 cases, Ekiti reported 8 cases and Kaduna confirmed 6 cases.

    Also, Cross River reported five cases, Kwara had four cases, Anambra and Delta recorded three cases each, Imo and Nasarawa confirmed two cases each and Borno with one case.

    The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control has conducted about 272,748 tests since the first confirmed case relating to the COVID-19 pandemic was announced.

    On the 29th of July 2020, 404 new confirmed cases and 5 deaths were recorded in Nigeria
    Till date, 42,208 cases have been confirmed, 19,004 cases have been discharged and 873 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
