    125 New COVID-19 Cases Recorded in Nigeria

    With this latest update, the tally of confirmed cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) infections in Nigeria rose to 57,849, as the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Thursday night recorded 125 new cases of Covid-19 in 12 states and the Federal Capital Territory

    In a post on its Twitter handle, the health agency said, no death were recorded from the virus. Also announced the discharge of 113 patients from isolation centers across the country.

    According to the breakdown released on Thursday by health agency, Lagos took the lead with 37 cases, Plateau with 18 cases, FTC with 17 cases and Ogun had 15 cases.

    Other states with new infections include: Rivers-10, Benue-7, Kaduna-7, Anambra-5, Oyo-3, Cross River-2, Ondo-2, Edo-1 and Imo-1.

    According to the health agency, on the 23rd of September 2020, 111 new confirmed cases and no death were recorded in Nigeria

    Till date, 57,849 cases have been confirmed, 49,098 cases have been discharged and 1,102 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

    Nigeria is the third most impacted country in Africa with South Africa recording the highest number of COVID-19 cases on the continent.

    Globally, over 32 million people have been infected and about 986,140 deaths recorded.
