    NCDC Reports 151 New COVID-19 Infections, Confirmed Cases Nears 60,000

    Confirmed cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) rose to  59,992, as Nigeria on Friday night recorded 151 new confirmed cases of the virus with no additional COVID-19 related deaths.

    While 63 new patient have been successfully treated and discharged in the last 24 hours.

    Nigeria Centre for Disease Control made this announcement through its its official Twitter handle. 

    The health agency’s data showed that Friday’s new cases were spread across 9 states and the Federal Capital Territory, with Lagos accounting for 71 cases, the highest number of infections for the day, and Ogun confirmed 26 cases, Kaduna reported 17 cases and Osun had 10 cases. 

    Other states with new cases include: Oyo-8, FCT-6, Rivers-6, Plateau-5, Akwa Ibom-1 and Ekiti-1

    The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control has conducted about 548,514 tests since the first confirmed case relating to the COVID-19 pandemic was announced.

    According to the health agency, on the 9th of October 2020, 151 new confirmed cases were recorded in Nigeria.

    Till date, 59 992 cases have been confirmed, 51,614 cases have been discharged and 1,113 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
