    NCDC Reports 838 New Coronavirus Cases, 7 Deaths

    Across the nation, 838 more coronavirus infections and 7 people were confirmed to have died of COVID-19 complications on Sunday. Nigeria has now recorded 84,414 total cases and 1,254 fatalities.

    The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control NCDC made this known via its official Twitter handle.

    The NCDC also confirmed 539 patients discharged from isolation centers across the country, bringing the total recoveries to 71,034

    Nigeria has so far tested 925,215 persons since the first confirmed case relating to the COVID-19 pandemic was announced on 27 February 2020.

    The public health agency in a tweet said the new cases were reported in 15 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

    Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory recorded the highest number of cases with 297, while Lagos, the the epicentre of COVID-19 in Nigeria recorded 253 new infections bringing the total number of the infections in the state to 28,741.

    Other states  with  new infections are Plateau-82, Kaduna-57, Katsina-32, Nasarawa-31, Kano-25, Gombe-24, Oyo-8, Rivers-8, Zamfara-7, Ogun-4, Bauchi-4, Edo-4, Anambra-1 and Sokoto-1

    In summary, on the 27th of November 2020, 838 new confirmed cases and 7 deaths were recorded in Nigeria.

    Till date, 84,414 cases have been confirmed, 71,034 cases have been discharged and 1,254 deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
