    COVID-19: 48 New Cases Recorded in Nigeria

    Nigeria reported another 48 new coronavirus cases and zero COVID-19 related death on Wednesday, as the country continued to see signs of improvement amid the second wave of the pandemic.

    The new COVID-19 cases logged today is up from 37 infections recorded on Tuesday.

    The breakdown of the new cases which was reported in 5 states and the Federal Capital Territory as follows,  Lagos-22, Rivers-11, Enugu-11, Kaduna-2, FCT-1 and Gombe-1.

    Today's report includes 0 cases from Plateau, Nasarawa, Kano, Osun, Ogun, Ondo, Oyo and Ekiti States, according to the report.

    With the latest updates, the country’s virus-related death toll reached 2,071 on Wednesday.

    Another 1 patient recovered from the virus.

    According to the latest data from Nigeria Centre for Disease Control NCDC, till date, 166,146 cases have been confirmed, 156,529 cases have been discharged and 2,071  deaths have been recorded in 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
