Like others before it, Android 12 beta is expected to go
public in Q2. Of course, there’s still no exact date, but you can expect it soon.
The past couple or so Android iterations saw Xiaomi and
other non-Google vendors join the testing program around this time. And we
expect nothing different.
Two weeks ago, a list of Xiaomi, Redmi, POCO and Black Shark
models appeared on the network that can count on receiving the Android 12
update. This is not an official list, but it was assured by the creators that
it was compiled taking into account the Xiaomi support policy and based on data
received from MIUI developers.
It has been two weeks and now there are some corrections.
POCO C3, POCO M2 and POCO M2 Reloaded dropped out of the contenders for Android
12. There is no longer any doubt that Redmi Note 9 4G, Redmi 9 T and Redmi 9
Power will get Android 12. There has been a replenishment in the list of
devices on which the twelfth version of the green robot is already being
tested.
The flagship devices now include Xiaomi Mi 11 series, Xiaomi
Mi 10, Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro, Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra, Xiaomi Mi 10T, Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro
and Redmi K30 S Ultra. This means that they will be among the first to update
to the stable version of Android 12.
Which Xiaomi will receive Android 12
As for the timing and priority of the release of updates, there is no information. We also remind that this list is not official and we expect the final shortlist of smartphones for receiving Android 12 in August simultaneously with the announcement of MIUI 13 or in September, when the final assembly of Android 12 should be presented.
As for MIUI 13, here is an approximate list of smartphones
that will receive it:
The MIUI 13 update list will include multiple Redmi, Xiaomi
and Poco phones. The MIUI 13 update will be rolled over in batches as the
current MIUI 12.5 generation. Here’s the first list of leaked smartphones said
to receive MIUI 13 update.
However, what we have learnt from the previous pattern of
MIUI release dates, we can’t deny the fact that the update could be announced before the year runs out, first in China and
then globally.
Mi 11 series
Mi 10 series
Mi Fold
Redmi Note 10 series
Redmi Note 9 series
Mi MIX Alpha
Redmi K40 series

As a reminder, Xiaomi adopts a unique firmware update
strategy; its devices may get the latest user interface version of MIUI but
still based on an old Android version.
