    Nigeria Reports 584 New COVID-19 Cases, 4 Deaths

    Virus caseload in Nigeria has reached 183,087 as of today according to Nigeria Centre  for Disease Control NCDC tallies. Recoveries have also risen markedly to 167,310 with 2,223 Nigerian residents died of COVID-19 since the beginning of the pandemic.

    The country on Monday logged 584 new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) disease.

    The day’s tally marked a slight increase over the 541 cases reported the day before.

    The health officials also reported that 178 COVID-19 patients have recovered and were discharged and 4 additional coronavirus related deaths in the last 24 hours.

    As many as 59,554 samples were tested for coronavirus disease in the span of a week. A total of 2,648,684 tests have been conducted in the country since the pandemic started.

    Active cases in the nation rises to 13,554.

    According to the data released by the health officials via its verified Facebook page, the new COVID-19 cases were reported across 14 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

    Lagos reported the highest number of COVID-19 infections with 201, while Rivers, FCT and Ondo recorded 149,  82 and 73 cases respectively, the health officials COVID-19 dashboard shows late Monday.

    Other states are Ekiti-17, Cross, River-13, Oyo-11, Ogun-9, Delta-8, Osun-8, Bayelsa-4, Kaduna-4, Kano-2, Kwara-2 and Sokoto-1

    Today's report includes 0 cases from Kano, Nasarawa and Plateau States.
