The deal will see the former Liverpool player reunite with
his former captain, Steve Gerrard.
There is no official confirmation yet by either Barcelona or
Aston Villa.
But British newspapers said it is a done deal.
However, Skysports said Coutinho will make his decision over
the Premier League switch today.
Coutinho, 29, left Liverpool in January 2018 to join
Barcelona in a record signing of £146million.
Although his exit left a bitter taste among fans at Anfield,
Liverpool used the money paid by Barca to buy players such as Virgil van Dijk
and Alisson Becker.
The club then went on to win the Champions League.
Coutinho on his part has been struggling to deliver in
Barcelona. He spent the 2019/20 season on loan at Bayern Munich.
Though there were reports that Liverpool may also be
interested in having their playmaker back, Skysports said Coutinho is
understood to be more than willing to sign for Villa.
Villa are 13th in the Premier League.
Coutinho was said to see them as an ambitious club that are
building something special for the future.
