According to an eyewitness report, the moving train rammed
into the BRT bus, which crossed the train tracks despite a train traffic
signal, and warning from the train traffic controller.
A statement by the NSIB General Manager, Public Affairs,
Tunji Oketunbi, disclosed that first responders at the accident site have
evacuated the bus and the train.
He further announced that this accident investigation marks
the first train accident investigation embarked upon by the Bureau since its
establishment under the NSIB Act 2022.
He therefore noted that the NSIB is soliciting information
from the general public in the form of pictures, video or recording evidence to
help assist in conducting a comprehensive investigation.
