    NIPR Lagos Chapter Announces Its 34th Annual GM & Lecture

    Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, Lagos State Chapter, is set to hold its Annual General Meeting and Lecture for the year 2023. This event kicked off Thursday September 6, 2023 with press briefing and a mentoring session for communication undergraduates in Lagos tertiary institutions.

    The Lagos PR Week will run from September 15th to Thursday, September 21st, 2023, under the theme: "Innovation and Disruption: Unlocking Opportunities for PR Practice."

    According to the NIPR Lagos Chapter Chairman, Comfort Obot Nwankwo, the event which will bring together key figures from Nigeria’s PR Industry and the Media will have PR Practitioners Evening of Cocktail, featuring engaging discussions on the future of PR, networking opportunities, music, and premier entertainment on Friday, September 15, 2023.

    Also, Saturday, September 16, 2023, will be dedicated to Health Awareness for PR Practitioners, Friends, and Family to enjoy recreational activities including a Health Walk, Health Check, Football Challenge, Aerobics, Fanfare, Tug of War, and more. 

    In addition, there would be a friendly match between NIPR Lagos and NIJ teams at the Nigerian Institute of Journalism, Ogba, starting at 7:30 am.

    She also noted that the grand finale of the PR Week on Thursday, September 21, 2023, will features the Annual Lecture, AGM, and General Elections, all centered around the theme “Innovation and Disruption: Unlocking Opportunities for PR Practice.” This event will take place at Agip Recital Hall, Muson Centre, Onikan, Lagos, starting at 10 am.

    NIPR Lagos Chapter Activities for this Year:

    • PR Digital Summit: Expected between October 18th and 19th at Sheraton Hotel, Lagos.
    • Lagos PR Industry Gala and Award (LaPRIGA): Save the date - December 15th, 2023.

    Nigerian Institute of Public Relations was established in the year 1963 as a non-governmental and not-for-profit professional body of qualified Public Relations practitioners Chartered by Decree 16 of June 1990 (now an act of Federal Republic of Nigeria) to regulate the practice and direct the development.

    NIPR aims to promote and develop the art and science of Public Relations practice in Nigeria, encourage the acquisition of professional qualifications in Public Relations through the provision of examinations and other facilities, conduct research, collect and disseminate information on all aspects of Public Relations.
