The Nigerian Education Loan Fund administration announced on Wednesday that twelve state government-owned tertiary institutions have been added to the student loan application pool.
The Fund's Head of Media and Public Relations, Nasir
Ayitogo, confirmed in a statement that the onboarding process was initiated
after the successful submission and verification of the data’s completeness.
“With this latest addition, the total number of
participating state government-owned tertiary institutions has now increased
from the initial 36 announced earlier to 48. Students’ data from 121
institutions is outstanding,” the statement read.
The Fund requests that all institutions submit their student
data to the Student Verification Portal as soon as possible to ensure that
their students can benefit from the program.
It also urged states whose data has been captured and
successfully uploaded to promptly notify their students to apply, thereby
providing relief to students who are experiencing financial difficulties while
also ensuring a steady stream of revenue for the institutions.
