Remini, an AI-powered photo enhancement application, has
achieved remarkable success, surpassing ChatGPT in terms of downloads and
establishing itself as the most popular AI app. According to data provided by
Stocklytics.com, Remini boasts a substantial download gap of 10 million over
ChatGPT.
Remini’s cumulative download count has reached an impressive
219 million, reflecting the widespread acceptance and appreciation of its
capabilities. These features encompass unblurring, restoring, and enhancing
images, along with the generation of AI-generated self-portraits.
The application's popularity stems from its user-friendly
interface, rapid processing times, and exceptional enhancement quality. Users
have consistently lauded its ability to transform old photographs into visually
stunning, high-definition images.
Edith Reads, a financial analyst at the aforementioned
website, offered her insights on this phenomenon. She stated that Remini’s
dominance in downloads signifies a significant shift in user preferences and
priorities within the AI app market.
“While conversational AI like ChatGPT remains crucial for
many applications, there is a clear demand for highly specialized AI tools that
offer tangible improvements to everyday digital tasks.”
The ability of Remini to enhance old photographs by removing
blurriness has garnered substantial interest among Chinese users, who are
enthusiastic about transforming their portraits into aesthetically pleasing,
clay sculpture-like images, as reported by Stocklytics.com.
Between April 30 and May 6, 2024, Remini achieved the top
position in China’s download charts, surpassing Douyin Lite and Douyin, which
are sister platforms of TikTok.
According to data provided by AltIndex.com, ChatGPT has yet
to achieve widespread adoption, with less than 10% of users engaging with it on
a daily basis.
A survey conducted by YouGov for the Reuters Institute for
the Study of Journalism in six countries between March and April 2024 revealed
that only one in ten individuals use ChatGPT daily.
Even respondents belonging to the youngest age group,
ranging from 18 to 24 years old, indicated that they do not regularly utilize
OpenAI’s chatbot.
A significant portion, approximately 18%, of Gen Z
individuals utilize ChatGPT on a weekly basis. Monthly users account for 12% of
respondents within this age group. Furthermore, 17% have engaged with ChatGPT
on a limited basis, using it only once or twice. Notably, 9% of Gen Z
individuals claim to use ChatGPT daily.
However, it is worth mentioning that a substantial 44% of
Gen Z individuals have not utilized ChatGPT even once, as indicated in the
report.
