Tim Ream, a defender for the United States, is set to depart from Fulham after a nine-year tenure with the English club, as he prepares to join Charlotte FC in Major League Soccer.

Fulham confirmed Ream's exit on Wednesday, with the London-based club honoring the 36-year-old center back as a “legend” and an “exceptional servant” to the team.

“I wish I could express my gratitude to each individual who contributed to my development as a player and, more importantly, as a person,” stated Ream, who has made 312 appearances for the club. “I am immensely thankful for all of it.”

Having recently represented the U.S. national team in the Copa America, Ream found himself sidelined as a regular starter for Fulham last season.

Fulham indicated that Ream had requested to leave the club.
