NTS Group, a Dutch manufacturer specializing in "mechatronic" equipment utilized by semiconductor companies, including the prominent ASML, inaugurated a significant new assembly and manufacturing facility in Singapore on Friday.

Mechatronics combines mechanical, electronic, and software systems. NTS is recognized for providing highly intricate systems employed in metrology, serving major clients such as Lam Research, Applied Materials, Thermo Fisher, and ASML, among others.

Headquartered in Eindhoven, NTS is the latest in a series of Dutch semiconductor firms expanding their manufacturing capabilities in Asian nations outside of China amid rising tensions with the U.S.

The company also maintains assembly operations in Shanghai and has recently established a U.S. office in Milpitas, California.

"The global demand for ultra-precision components and modules continues to rise," stated the company's new CEO, Frans van Lierop, who previously managed the supply chain at ASML and assumed leadership at NTS in May.

While the company did not reveal the investment amount, a spokesperson indicated that the facility spans 20,000 square meters and employs 300 individuals.
