The motion picture "Farmer's Bride" has achieved a notable box office gross of 154 million Nigerian Naira after more than a month in theaters, solidifying its position as one of the highest-grossing Nollywood films of the year 2024.

The film's robust performance has made a significant contribution to Nigeria's year-to-date box office revenue, which is rapidly approaching an exceptional 8 billion Nigerian Naira.

This achievement marks a record-setting year for Nollywood and emphasizes the industry's growing impact on the global cinema scene.

Since its release on September 27, Farmer’s Bride quickly made a significant impression, earning N37.1 million during its opening weekend.

This debut established a new record for the highest weekend earnings for an 18-rated Nollywood film in 2024, and it ranks as the fourth-highest opening for a Nigerian film this year. The film has become a topic of conversation, captivating audiences with its compelling narrative and historical backdrop.

By October 9—just 12 days post-release—the film had already surpassed N89 million. As excitement grew and positive reviews circulated, Farmer’s Bride continued to attract viewers, reaching N103 million by October 20.

This achievement placed it among the select group of Nollywood films that have crossed the N100 million mark, reinforcing its status among the year's top cinematic offerings. By the end of October, its total earnings exceeded N130 million, and as of early November, it has reached an impressive N154 million.

Set against the backdrop of the dynamic yet tumultuous 1980s Ibadan, Farmer’s Bride tells the tale of Odun, a prosperous but reclusive farmer who weds a youthful bride, Funmi, in search of companionship. However, their bond soon becomes strained as Funmi finds herself in a clandestine relationship with Odun’s nephew, resulting in intricate repercussions filled with themes of love, betrayal, and supernatural occurrences.
