Effective December 21st, X, a company owned by Elon Musk, implemented price increases for its premium-plus subscription plan in multiple markets. This adjustment is intended to facilitate improved creator compensation on the platform.

The premium plan is now available for $22 per month in the United States, a rise from the previous price of $16, as stated in a recent blog post. The costs for the basic and premium tiers remain unchanged at $3 and $8, respectively.

In October, X revised its revenue-sharing model to ensure that subscription fees more directly benefit creators, focusing on content quality and engagement rather than solely on ad views.

The new pricing structure is applicable to new subscribers, while current members will maintain their existing rates until January 20.

Premium-plus subscribers enjoy ad-free browsing along with features like expanded access to the Grok AI chatbot and Radar, which provides real-time analytics on emerging trends through keyword tracking.

Subscriptions play a crucial role in Musk's strategy to enhance revenue growth at X, formerly known as Twitter, which had traditionally depended on advertising revenue.
