Professor Asikhia is a globally recognized scholar and Professor of Business Administration, bringing over three decades of extensive experience as an academic, researcher, institutional leader, management consultant, and entrepreneur. His journey at Caleb University began in 2021 as the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research, Innovation, Strategy, and Administration).
During his tenure as DVC, Professor Asikhia was instrumental in the implementation of the university's ambitious 2022–2026 Strategic Plan, which achieved an impressive 71.2% success rate by 2024. His strategic efforts also played a significant role in elevating the institution's national ranking from 66th to 18th, with a notable 57% increase in visibility.
A two-time recipient of the SME and Poverty Alleviation Grant from the University of South Africa, Professor Asikhia is highly regarded for his research, which has influenced national and international policy. He has successfully positioned Caleb University on the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings and is recognized by the AD Scientific Index as being among the top 3% of Nigerian researchers in Business Administration.
Professor Asikhia's academic background is diverse and robust, holding degrees in Biochemistry, Economics, Marketing, Development Economics, and Business Administration. He boasts two doctoral degrees: a PhD in Management from the University of KwaZulu Natal and a Doctor of Business Leadership from the University of South Africa.
His distinguished career also includes significant consultancy roles with prominent organizations such as Shell Petroleum, the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, the Nigeria National Assembly, and the Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas (NLNG). Additionally, he has held academic leadership positions at other reputable institutions, including Ogun State University, Covenant University, and Babcock University.
Beyond his impressive administrative and research achievements, Professor Asikhia is a prolific academic. He has supervised an impressive 95 doctoral students, with seven of them going on to become professors themselves. He is the author of 157 peer-reviewed publications and 10 books. Furthermore, he is a former National President of the All Nigerian Conference of Evangelical Drama Ministers and is known as a dedicated teacher of the Christian faith.
Professor Asikhia is married to Professor Busayo Asikhia of Lagos State University of Education, and they have two children.
