A fresh wave of concern has emerged around Nigerian music icon Innocent “2Baba” Idibia after he released a video alleging that some relatives and close associates are orchestrating a harmful narrative about his mental health and personal life. The singer, visibly frustrated, said he has reached a point where remaining silent is no longer an option.
In the video, 2Baba stresses that he is mentally fine and actively working, pointing out that he recently performed in Abuja and continues to appear publicly. According to him, any suggestion that he is unstable is a deliberate distortion pushed by individuals who claim to be acting in his interest.
He accused certain family members of contributing to the breakdown of his marriage to actress Annie Idibia and claimed that the same pattern of interference has now shifted toward his current partner, Natasha. More troubling, he said, are the alleged death threats that Natasha is receiving.
The veteran singer described the situation as dangerously escalated, far beyond ordinary family disagreements. He expressed hurt and disbelief that people who insist they are trying to “save” him are, from his perspective, placing him and those close to him at even greater risk.
Affirming his right to choose his partner, 2Baba maintained that he is fully capable of managing his personal life without outside manipulation. He strongly condemned what he called fabrications and falsehoods being circulated, saying the strain has become unbearable and emotionally devastating.
Appealing for restraint, he urged both the public and his relatives to respect his boundaries and allow him space to live his private life without interference. He hinted that more revelations may come soon, noting that his patience has reached its limit.
According to him, the coming days will bring a fuller account of his experiences as he prepares to “speak a whole lot of truth.”
