Nigerian music icon Innocent Ujah Idibia MON, popularly known as 2Face, has addressed lingering questions about the breakup of his former boy band, Plantashun Boiz. Speaking to fans during a live performance at the Made in Benue Festival in Makurdi, the singer clarified that bandmate Faze was not involved in the disputes that led to the group’s split.

2Face, who formed Plantashun Boiz alongside Blackface and Faze in the early 2000s, explained that unforeseen circumstances were behind the band’s separation. “You all know that Plantashun Boiz consisted of Blackface, 2Face, and Faze. But due to some unforeseen circumstances, Blackface is not with us right now. However, no matter the beef wey me and Blackface get, nothing concern Faze inside. So, Faze is right here with me and we will represent Plantashun Boiz,” he said.

The band, which gained massive popularity in the early 2000s, eventually disbanded as members pursued solo careers. The split was further complicated by allegations from Blackface, who accused 2Face of song theft—a controversy that strained the relationship between the two artists.

Despite the past disputes, 2Face’s comments suggest a commitment to celebrating the legacy of Plantashun Boiz and maintaining unity with Faze as they continue to engage fans with their music.
