The Nigerian entertainment industry has been in mourning following the sudden passing of actress Allwell Ademola, who died on December 27, 2025, at the age of 49 after suffering a heart attack. Amid the outpouring of tributes, actress Laide Bakare has expressed concern over how some colleagues and fans are handling the news on social media.
In an Instagram post, Bakare described the actions of some as “really sad,” noting that just hours after Ademola’s death, some people were posting content online, including on TikTok, where they appeared to be playing games and collecting gifts.
“The way fans and colleagues are creating content with the passing of our dear sister is really sad. Anyway, God is watching everyone. Rest well, Allwell,” she wrote. She added that some of Ademola’s close friends were actively using TikTok shortly after her passing, a display she found inappropriate.
Bakare’s remarks echo concerns previously shared by actress Alesh Sanni, who questioned the sincerity of online condolences and highlighted the inconsistency of public support following tragic events.
Ademola’s family has expressed gratitude for the support received since her passing and announced that details regarding burial arrangements will be shared at a later date. The news has prompted conversations about social media etiquette and respect for mourning in the entertainment community.
