Nollywood filmmaker and actress Funke Akindele has expressed delight following the remarkable performance of her latest movie, Behind The Scenes, which has posted strong numbers at the box office in Nigeria and overseas.

Within its opening weekend, the film reportedly grossed over ₦200 million across Nigerian cinemas, while earning £42,000 from screenings in the United Kingdom and Ireland. The figures position the production as one of the most successful Nollywood openings recorded in 2025 so far.

Reacting to the milestone, Akindele took to social media to appreciate fans for their massive turnout and support. She described the achievement as a major win, noting that the film secured the biggest opening weekend of the year in Nigeria.

The actress also extended special gratitude to audiences in the UK and Ireland, acknowledging their role in making the movie the highest-grossing Nollywood opening weekend in those territories.

According to her, Behind The Scenes remains in cinemas nationwide in Nigeria, as well as in selected Odeon cinemas across the UK and Ireland, encouraging more viewers to experience the film with family and friends.

Released on December 12, the movie has continued to attract positive reviews from cinema-goers, further strengthening its strong opening momentum.
