The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has officially released the squad numbers for Nigeria’s Super Eagles ahead of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

Talismanic striker Victor Osimhen will retain his iconic number 9 jersey, while newly appointed captain Wilfred Ndidi will continue wearing his familiar number 4 shirt. Midfield maestro Fisayo Dele-Bashiru has been handed the revered number 10, signaling his key role in Eric Chelle’s plans for the tournament.

Other regulars in the squad will also keep their preferred numbers: Ademola Lookman at 7, Samuel Chukwueze at 11, and Frank Onyeka at 8.

The tournament also sees the inclusion of several new faces. Salim Fago, Ebenezer Akinsanmiro, Ryan Alebiosu, and Tochukwu Nnadi have been assigned numbers 25, 26, 27, and 28 respectively, as they aim to make an impact on the continental stage.

The Super Eagles will be looking to claim a fourth Africa Cup of Nations title in Morocco, building on a rich history of success in the tournament. Nigeria’s campaign kicks off next week in Fès, where Eric Chelle’s side will face the Taifa Stars of Tanzania on Tuesday.

With the squad now confirmed, attention turns to their preparation and strategy as they aim to return to the top of African football.
