In discussing the album, Baptista explained that I Won was not a calculated musical project but a divine journey spanning seven years of personal challenges. “I didn’t write from a place of perfection; I wrote from a place of survival,” she said, adding that each lyric reflects seasons of silent tears, prayer, and endurance she once feared she would not overcome.
Although recorded between 2023 and 2025, the album’s emotional roots stretch back further, shaped by loss, uncertainty, and financial pressures. Clarity, Baptista said, came only when she surrendered fully to God rather than forcing outcomes.
Several tracks draw inspiration from profound personal struggles, including the loss of twins, the disappearance of her sister Motunrayo Tolulope Baptist, and other family challenges. These experiences, she said, transformed her prayer life from questioning to trust—a journey reflected throughout the album.
Songs such as F.O.G (Focus on God), Modupe, and Joy highlight this spiritual evolution, celebrating gratitude, resilience, and praise amid uncertainty. A pivotal moment in the album’s production came through the unexpected support of producer Oluwafemi Aborisade, who was divinely guided to produce the video for I Won.
The album also features a standout collaboration with Daniel Kolawole Olukoya on Yea & Amen, a track Baptista describes as spiritually symbolic, representing alignment, divine authority, and perfect timing.
Beyond music, Baptista expressed appreciation to the Ogun State Government and Attorney-General Oluwasina Ogungbade (SAN) for their involvement in the ongoing search for her missing sister.
Now available on major digital platforms, I Won serves as both a personal testimony and a message of hope. “Pain does not have the final word,” Baptista said. “If God did it for me, He can do it for them.”
