Former Big Brother Naija housemate and comedian Aderombi Adedayo, popularly known as Dee One, has revealed that he has been invited by the Nigeria Police Force through its Force Intelligence Department (FID) for what authorities described as a routine interview.

In a post shared on X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday, Dee One read out the contents of an official invitation letter addressed to him. The letter, signed by the Commissioner of Police, Force Intelligence Department, stated that the invitation forms part of an ongoing inquiry and is strictly a fact-finding interview.

It directed the comedian to report at the FID Annex Office in Lagos, via the OCCIOS team, for the interview.

Possible Link to Viral Video

Dee One hinted that the invitation may be linked to a video he posted earlier this week, which generated massive attention and sparked heated debates across social media platforms.

Although public opinion has been divided, the comedian insisted he has no regrets about sharing the video, stressing that he did nothing wrong and was simply exercising his rights as a Nigerian citizen.

He said,

“I saw something strange that happened in Turkey involving our President… and I shared my views as an ordinary Nigerian.”

Dee One acknowledged that some people accused him of cyberbullying and criticised him for mentioning the President’s son. However, he maintained that his comments were fair and within his rights.

Comedian Pledges to Cooperate

Addressing Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, Dee One assured him of his willingness to cooperate with the police and said he would honour the invitation.

He announced his intention to report to the police office on Monday, and promised to keep Nigerians updated on any developments following the meeting.

As the story develops, many Nigerians are watching closely to see whether the invitation will mark the end of the matter or escalate into a wider investigation.
