Plans are underway to significantly expand the reach of Duch TV Africa as the media organisation advances efforts to transition from predominantly online broadcasting to global satellite transmission. The move is expected to extend the station’s footprint beyond the African continent, opening its content to audiences across multiple regions of the world.
Central to this expansion strategy is a proposed partnership with the Nigerian Communications Satellite Limited (NigComSat), through which Duch TV Africa intends to secure a satellite broadcasting slot. The development represents a key milestone in the organisation’s long-term growth agenda and its ambition to operate as a globally recognised media brand.
Executive Director of Duch TV Africa, Gbenga Oloyede, confirmed that discussions and preparatory work are ongoing to enable the station’s migration onto the NigComSat platform. He noted that the initiative is designed to broaden broadcast coverage and enhance access to the station’s news and programming beyond digital streaming channels.
According to Oloyede, the planned satellite transmission will allow Duch TV Africa to deliver credible news, informative programmes and quality African-centred content to a much wider and more diverse audience, reinforcing its commitment to professional journalism and impactful storytelling.
The expansion drive, however, is not limited to satellite television. Director of Duch TV Africa, Funmilayo Florence Babalola, disclosed that the organisation is also intensifying efforts to strengthen its digital media assets, particularly Memonews Online Newspaper, as part of a comprehensive growth strategy.
She explained that the dual focus on satellite broadcasting and digital journalism is intended to deepen the organisation’s global media presence and ensure real-time access to its content across borders. The integration of NigComSat satellite services with Memonews’ online news platform, she added, will significantly amplify the reach and influence of Duch TV Africa.
Babalola further emphasised the organisation’s commitment to accurate reporting, responsible journalism and the promotion of authentic African perspectives, noting that innovation in content delivery remains a priority as the media house expands.
Management of Duch TV Africa has reiterated its dedication to professionalism, creativity and ethical reporting, assuring audiences that the planned global expansion will not compromise content quality but rather enhance the impact of its news and programmes.
With the proposed NigComSat partnership and ongoing investment in digital platforms, Duch TV Africa is positioning itself to join a growing list of African media organisations projecting local narratives onto the global stage.
