The campaign was officially introduced during a recent Los Angeles Rams NFL game, leveraging the high-profile sporting event to reach one of Hawaii’s most important visitor markets. Los Angeles remains one of the top domestic sources of travelers to Hawaii, making the venue an ideal platform to debut the campaign’s message.
Developed by the Hawaii Visitors and Convention Bureau (HVCB), the campaign shifts attention beyond traditional tourism promotion to highlight the lasting personal impact of visiting Hawaii. According to HVCB, “Hawaii Stays With You” reflects the idea that experiences in the Islands—ranging from milestone celebrations such as weddings and anniversaries to everyday cultural encounters—create enduring memories that remain with visitors long after they return home.
The campaign emphasizes Hawaii’s living culture, diverse communities and creative spirit, positioning the destination as a place of connection rather than consumption. It aims to resonate with travelers seeking more meaningful, transformative experiences through travel.
Aaron Sala, President and Chief Executive Officer of HVCB, described the campaign as both an invitation and a statement of purpose. He said it encourages visitors to form genuine connections while acknowledging the profound influence Hawaii can have on those who experience it.
“Hawaii is home to a living culture, diverse community and a thriving creative spirit,” Sala said. “‘Hawaii Stays With You’ is an invitation to find connection. It is also a declaration that an encounter with Hawaii can profoundly affect the lives of those who come here. The people, the place, and the culture of our Hawaiian islands stay with you long after the journey ends.”
The launch comes as Hawaii continues to recalibrate its tourism strategy toward sustainable, values-driven travel that respects local culture and communities while delivering deeper value to visitors. HTA officials say the campaign will be rolled out across multiple platforms and markets, reinforcing Hawaii’s identity as a destination defined not only by its natural beauty, but by the emotional and cultural bonds it creates.
