Oversabi Aunty, the latest Nollywood offering produced by actress Toyin Abraham, has officially joined the ranks of West Africa’s top-grossing films, achieving the fourth spot in just 18 days at the box office.
The announcement came via FilmOne Entertainment, the movie’s official distributor, on its Instagram page on Monday. According to the post, the film has raked in N711.5 million, making it the second highest-grossing title of the weekend and cementing its place among Nollywood’s most successful cinematic releases.
The distributor expressed gratitude to fans, writing: “West Africa, you showed up and showed out in an Oversabi way. Thank you for the love. In just 18 days, Oversabi Aunty grossed N711.5M, making it the 4th Highest Nollywood Film of all time in West Africa. Thank you to everyone for the love and support so far. This win is for all of us.”
The film’s impressive performance has surpassed box office hits like Funke Akindele’s Battle on Buka Street (2022) and Omo Ghetto: The Saga (2020), which earned over N660 million and N630 million, respectively. Earlier reports from BrandIconImage noted that Oversabi Aunty had already grossed over N380 million within its first 11 days of release.
The achievement highlights the growing commercial strength of Nollywood productions and the strong audience turnout for locally produced films across West Africa.
