Osun State University (UNIOSUN) has announced the appointment of Professor Alamu Oguntola from the Department of Mechanical Engineering as the acting Provost of its Postgraduate College. The appointment, approved by Vice-Chancellor Professor Clement Adebooye, took effect on Monday, January 5, 2026, and is part of the university’s ongoing efforts to strengthen leadership and enhance academic excellence across its postgraduate programmes.

In a statement issued on Friday, UNIOSUN’s Public Relations Officer, Ademola Adesoji, highlighted that Professor Oguntola brings 26 years of experience in teaching, research, and university administration to his new role.

Professor Adebooye congratulated Professor Oguntola, emphasizing his “exceptional academic credentials, extensive administrative experience, and active global research collaborations” as critical assets that would drive the strategic growth and reputation of the Postgraduate College.

The Vice-Chancellor noted that the appointment is expected to consolidate the college’s commitment to rigorous research, academic excellence, and the training of highly skilled professionals capable of contributing to both national and international development.
