The event is scheduled to take place on March 7 at the ICC‑TTA Auditorium in Atlanta, bringing together gospel artistes, choirs and audiences from across North America and Africa.
The concert, which has grown into a major cultural and spiritual gathering over the years, has received the endorsement of the Consulate‑General of Nigeria in Atlanta in recognition of its role in promoting Nigerian and African music and culture internationally.
Former Nigerian Consul-General in Atlanta, Geoffrey Teneilabe, commended the initiative, describing the concert as a platform that has contributed significantly to artistic and cultural exchange between Africa and the United States.
According to him, the event has provided opportunities for creative expression through a blend of African and American gospel music while also strengthening cultural ties between both countries.
He noted that the concert has helped showcase African gospel music to American audiences and foster greater appreciation of African values and traditions.
At this year’s edition, Hope David will lead a delegation of Nigerian and African artistes for a special performance featuring high-praise gospel music from across the continent. The concert will also feature the Fusion Mass Choir alongside guest artistes and choirs from within and outside the United States.
Speaking ahead of the event, the gospel singer said the vision behind the concert has always been to project Nigeria’s gospel music, culture and artistic heritage to the global stage.
“The vision for this concert is to unveil the Nigerian brand of gospel music, culture and arts to the world, and we have been achieving that goal by God’s grace over the years,” she said.She added that beyond entertainment, the concert is intended to be a spiritual gathering where attendees can experience transformation and renewed faith.
Over the years, the Fusion Concert has featured several notable gospel artistes including Don Moen, Naomi Christy, Soji Israel, Bisong Heavenstars, Mike Stuckey and Aity Dennis.
Originally from Idah in Kogi State, Hope David is a multiple award-winning gospel music veteran whose career dates back to the early 1980s. She is known for songs such as “Thank You So Much Lord Jesus,” “God Can Do,” “Hallelujah,” and “Salute.”
Beyond music, the singer is also the founder and convener of the annual Nigeria Independence Day Celebration in Atlanta, an initiative aimed at promoting Nigerian culture and unity among the diaspora.
