The record-breaking event, Trench Symphony: The Dapper Live Experience, has been recognised as the largest orchestra assembled for an Afrobeats concert, with 85 musicians performing simultaneously in what has been described as a landmark moment for Nigerian music on the global stage.
Guinness World Records confirmed the achievement on Tuesday via its official X account, sharing a video of the performance and highlighting the scale of the orchestral production.
In the post, Guinness World Records wrote: “Largest orchestra for an Afrobeats concert – 85 musicians by Dapper Live & Artists @DapperMusicEnt_. This attempt took place at the Balmoral Convention Centre in Lagos, Nigeria in December 2025 and was staged as a live orchestral performance based on an Afrobeats composition.
“Led by a conductor, the concert featured a lead singer, an accompanying choir, dancers, and 85 musicians performing in coordination. The event showcased how Afrobeats and orchestral music can seamlessly blend.”
The historic performance took place on December 16, 2025, at the Balmoral Convention Centre in Lagos, where contemporary Afrobeats stars shared the stage with renowned Fuji musicians in an ambitious orchestral production.
The concert featured performances by King Saheed Osupa and KS1 Malaika, alongside a lineup of fast-rising Afrobeats acts including T.I Blaze, Rybeena, Bhadboi OML, Kashcoming, TML Vibez, Lasmid, Heis Cazulee and Dwillsharmony.
Designed to push the creative boundaries of Nigerian music, the event combined live orchestral arrangements with the energetic sounds of Afrobeats and Fuji, creating a unique musical experience that captivated audiences and ultimately secured international recognition.
Before the official announcement by Guinness World Records, Dapper Live & Artists had revealed on its Instagram page that the record attempt had been successfully reviewed and verified.
The organisers described the concert as a celebration of musical innovation, noting that the production was intentionally created to blend different genres while rewriting the record books through an unprecedented orchestral performance.
Dapper Live & Artists is associated with Nigerian music executive Damilola Akinwunmi, popularly known as Dapper. The entertainment entrepreneur has played a significant role in promoting emerging talents within Nigeria's music industry and is also widely known for his relationship with celebrity chef and three-time Guinness World Records holder, Hilda Baci.
The latest recognition further underscores the growing global influence of Afrobeats and highlights the increasing willingness of Nigerian creatives to experiment with large-scale productions that merge traditional orchestral music with contemporary African sounds.
