The world football governing body announced the new ball on Tuesday, revealing that it will make its debut in the semi-finals before featuring in the bronze medal match and the World Cup final, which is scheduled to take place on July 19 at New York New Jersey Stadium in the United States.
According to FIFA, the Trionda Final retains the same performance-focused construction as the original Trionda match ball that was introduced in October 2025. However, it arrives with a distinctive premium look, combining gold, white and black to mark the climax of football's biggest tournament.
FIFA said the design reflects the journey to winning the World Cup, with the gold finish representing the iconic FIFA World Cup Trophy, while the black base gives the ball a bold identity for the competition's concluding matches.
Beyond its appearance, the ball also pays tribute to all 16 host cities of the expanded 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The four cities staging the tournament's final matches—Dallas, Atlanta, Miami, and New York New Jersey—are prominently highlighted in the design. The remaining host cities—Boston, Guadalajara, Houston, Kansas City, Los Angeles, Mexico City, Monterrey, Philadelphia, San Francisco Bay Area, Seattle, Toronto and Vancouver—are represented through the ball's triangular graphic elements.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino described the unveiling as a fitting symbol for the competition's final chapter.
"The TRIONDA FINAL ball for the last four matches of the FIFA World Cup is here," Infantino said.
He praised the impact of the original match ball throughout the tournament, adding:
"The iconic TRIONDA has brought so much joy every time it has hit the back of the net in this FIFA World Cup and it perfectly embodies the unity and passion of the tournament's host nations Canada, Mexico and the United States."
Infantino also said the new ball would become part of the tournament's legacy as the world's top players compete for football's ultimate prize.
"For the final four matches of the tournament, this TRIONDA FINAL will be at the feet of the best players on the planet. Through every touch, dribble, flick, pass, cross, save, strike and goal, the 16 cities that have helped FIFA stage the record-breaking 23rd edition of the tournament will be further etched into FIFA World Cup folklore."
In addition to its new design, the Trionda Final features the latest adidas Connected Ball Technology, which provides real-time ball data to assist match officials in making quicker and more accurate decisions. The technology also enhances match analysis by supplying detailed data throughout each game.
The semi-finals of the 2026 FIFA World Cup are set to kick off on July 14, with the bronze medal match and the final bringing the historic tournament to a close on July 19.
