Nollywood actress Uche Ogbodo has confirmed that her marriage to Bobby Maris has come to an end, putting to rest days of speculation sparked by the couple's activities on social media.

Rumours of a possible split first emerged after Ogbodo and Maris unfollowed each other on Instagram. The speculation intensified when the actress, her husband, and her younger sister shared cryptic messages on their Instagram Stories, prompting widespread reactions from fans and followers.

Breaking her silence on Tuesday evening, Ogbodo addressed the reports through a series of posts on her Instagram Story, indicating that she had decided to walk away from the marriage.

She wrote, “I no do again nah sin?”

The actress expressed frustration over what she described as societal expectations placed on women to remain in unhappy marriages, questioning why women are often criticised for deciding to leave relationships that no longer work.

“For Person to Tire for Marriage now nah Taboo because nah Woman! Must it always be Man must taya? My Tayad is Tayad! I’m Tired of the Princess wey dey marry me. What is wrong with that? To be happy As a Woman in Marriage is by Connection in this Country!

“I no do again nah Sin? Make nobody push me to the wall because I be rubber. 8 years of my life is not enough yet? Maybe I should give it 20 years or maybe 6feet under before the Crown of thorns can fit me well,” she wrote.

While Ogbodo did not disclose the specific circumstances that led to the breakdown of the marriage, her remarks suggest she had reached a point where she no longer wished to continue the relationship.

Neither Bobby Maris nor his representatives had publicly responded to the actress's statement as of the time of filing this report.
