Mahomes Wants Raps to Play Next Season in K.C.

The Toronto Raptors have another city lining up to host them next season.

Super Bowl LIV MVP Patrick Mahomes has thrown Kansas City's hat in the ring in the event Toronto is unable to play the 2020-21 NBA campaign north of the border.

"Bring them to KC!" the superstar quarterback wrote on social media Monday.

Kansas City doesn't have an NBA franchise but the T-Mobile Center located in the downtown core has hosted the Big 12 men's basketball tournament since 2010.

The city's mayor, Quinton Lucas, has also campaigned for Kansas City's candidacy and has told Mahomes he's "working on it."

"We will make sure the right folks know #KCMO and T-Mobile Center are ready," Lucas said over the weekend on Twitter.

Louisville's KFC Yum! Center was reportedly another option for the Raptors. The Toronto Blue Jays and Toronto FC were unable to play in Canada this year due to government-imposed travel restrictions.

All travelers entering Canada must immediately quarantine for 14 days upon arrival by law.

It's been 35 years since Kansas City last hosted an NBA club. The Sacramento Kings resided in the area from 1972-85.
